This project is a folk inspired solo guitar EP. I have forever loved the folk music of America, it has always felt raw and real to me. It may have been my rebellious teenage years but I did not like the mainstream music at the time and instead of listening to Indie or underground music I found my peace with the folk revival music of the 60s and 70s. Music by guys like Bob Dylan and Jim Croce were what I was listening to and growing from. Stories of people dealing with situations I couldn't imagine and seeing a realistic point of view where ugly emotions are there in real life situations.
The energy of being to command a crowd with a guitar and a voice, being able to move an audience as easily as a full orchestra. Folk musicians, for me have the best control of energy I have ever seen. After graduating from college I have been wandering musically, not exactly sticking to just jazz but also not going completely away from it.
This EP is my efforts in bringing my two favorite genres together, to try to take from the musicians that have inspired my soul and combine it with the music that has inspired me academically.
